How Did We Get Here?

The idea of taking our family on the road has sounded fun ever since we heard about it a few years ago. But it was never something that seemed probable. Not much research was done because why invest time into researching something that can never be? And then Covid-19 happened.

We have homeschooled our family since the beginning. It has never been easy but God equips and covers us with grace and his goodness is there in the hard times. "Sow what you reap" was a verse from 2 Corinthians that I hold dear and cling to. I will sow deeply into in my four blessings and pray that I will reap goodness from the effort.

Covid didn't really change much about homeschooling for us. Nick didn't lose his job till we were months into the pandemic. He got his previous job back almost immediately and started working from home. With the expectation that he can work remotely all the time. Just like that. Taking our circus on the road felt much more probable. I researched. Nick and I talked and searched for trailers online. We joined roadschooling facebook groups. And I came to the conclusion that very few families are on the road if they have more than 3 kids. I also refuse to let my kids school on a computer or iPad. Not happening. Would not be good for them - I need some storage for books! So smaller trailer, 4 kids - each with their own bed - they will need space to retreat to.

We had a few trailers that came up for sale but sold before we could look at them. Finally I found a 2012 Keystone Bullet that matched everything we wanted on RVT.com. I called the dealer, got a Facetime tour, put a deposit down, and we drove up to Fresno (90 minutes drive one way) the next morning to see it in person. Loved it. Bought it. BAM!
Let the adventure began!

What are your trailer requirements? Did it take you a long time to find yours?
